Mrs. Shamama Anis earned her LL.B. from Allahabad University and serves as the Managing Senior Partner of the Firm. Raised in a distinguished legal family, she inherited a deep understanding of litigation and legal practice. Her father, Late Mr. Bashir Ahmad, was a renowned Senior Advocate of the Allahabad High Court and Member of Parliament, while her husband, Late Mr. Anis Suhrawardy, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India, was a highly respected legal practitioner.
With more than thirty years of professional experience, Mrs. Anis has played an instrumental role in strengthening the Firm's legal foundation. Her courtroom expertise, strategic legal insight and leadership continue to guide the Firm's partners and associates in handling complex litigation across multiple judicial forums.
Throughout her legal career, she worked closely with Late Mr. Anis Suhrawardy on several landmark matters before the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. Their combined legal expertise contributed to significant constitutional, civil, environmental, service and public interest litigation involving nationally recognized personalities and institutions.
Mrs. Anis has been associated with several notable cases, including matters relating to Haji Mastan Mirza, Chandraswami, Agra Diocese, the internationally recognized "Dancing Bear Case", Railway Casual Labour regularisation, implementation of the Srikrishna Commission recommendations, the Hawala Scam litigation and numerous other significant proceedings before the Supreme Court of India.
